Individuals who possess Ectokinesis usually possess knowledge of the occult or some kind of affinity towards mysticism, but this is not always the case. Sometimes science can provide one with the means to manipulate material from the spirit world. In the Golden Age era, criminal mastermind Doctor Psycho once used his knowledge of both science and the occult to extract material from the spirit plane. The spirit of vengeance known as the Spectre often uses Ectokinesis for a wide variety of effects. Typically, he employs this to alter his physical form or adjust his overall size.
