DCAU
DCAU is an acronym which stands for DC Animated Universe and is used in reference to characters and storylines from DC's animated movies and television projects. Although primarily used to describe programs that went into production following the 1992 Batman: The Animated Series, it can also be used to describe older shows such as The New Adventures of Batman and the Super Friends. Traditionally, DCAU is used to describe six specific programs, all of which take place within a shared continuity. Programs that are considered to be part of the "canonical" DC Animated Universe include:
- Batman (1992 TV Series)
- Batman Beyond (TV Series)
- Superman (1996 TV Series)
- Justice League (TV Series)
- Justice League Unlimited (TV Series)
- Static Shock (TV Series)

Drone
Though most commonly attributed to male members of the Apidae or "Honey Bee" family, drones refer to any technological or organic construct that lacks any sense of free will and is subservient to a greater authoritative body. Zazzala the Queen Bee often employs drone workers who are only quasi-sentient and are completely subservient to her whims. Shock troops employed by the H.I.V.E. were sometimes referred to as Drones, but these agents were still capable of independent thought and action. Automated robotic space vessels are commonly referred to as drone ships.

Duploid
A Duploid is a biological clone created through an unorthodox act of fission. Duploids differ from traditional clones insofar that they are usually created through a means beyond that of standard laboratory science. While some duploids may possess independent thought and free will, others are subservient to the parent organism. Duploids are usually created to perform a specific function, upon completion of which, they return to their original state by fusing with their parent body. The super-villain, Multiplex, possessed the ability to spontaneously generate Duploids in his own image. The hero, Impulse, likewise possessed such an ability during his tenure with Young Justice. In the 30th/31st centuries, Luornu Durgo of the Legion of Super-Heroes had the ability to generate duplicates of herself and has been known by several code-names reflecting this power such as Duo Damsel, Triplicate Girl and Una.
