DC Direct
DC Direct is an action figure, statue and poster company directly related to DC Comics. Their name comes from the fact they make DC based action figures and that they ship to comic book shops (the direct market). Originally doing figures based on MAD Magazine, in 1999, the first DC Comics figures shipped.
DC Direct did figures based on MAD Magazine until 1999 when they started making figures of DC Comics characters. In 2001, they released figures of Alfred E. Neuman (MAD's mascot) in clothes based on other DC heroes under the name "Just-Us League of Stupid Heroes" based off comics of Neuman as those heroes. In 2002, the first figures based on characters from Batman and Superman stories appeared. One of these figures was the "21 point of articulation" Superman, one of DCD's best selling figures. Batman got his own line in 2004, with the release of "Hush" figures based on the art of Jim Lee.
