History:

Mademoiselle Marie was a young Parisian woman who joined the French Resistance during World War II. Throughout the course of the war, she performed many heroic deeds on behalf of Europe and frequently teamed up with the American military commander Sgt. Rock. At some point during the war, she had an affair with a British officer operating in France named Alfred Pennyworth. Their dalliance left Marie with child whom she named Julia. ^[1] After the war, Julia was raised by a surrogate father named Remarque. It wasn't until Julia was an adult that she came to the United States and found her actual birth father. Mademoiselle Mari's exploits following World War II are unknown.

Notes:

• The Earth-One and New Earth versions of Mademoiselle Marie share an identical history with one another, but with one notable exception: the affair with Alfred Pennyworth. In order to maintain Alfred's steady age in Post-Crisis continuity, his affair with Mlle. Marie and the subsequent birth of his daughter are no longer considered part of canon continuity.
