Trivia

• Although Nick and Phil belonged to two separate military units, their serial numbers were very similar. Phil's was 408866, and Nick's was 409966. This was also the serial number of Easy Company topkick Sgt. Rock. Allegedly, the number 409966 was writer Robert Kanigher's own dogtag number during the time he spent in the service.^[1]
