History

Personal History

I'm Billy Arrowsmith. I go to high school in NYC, and I don't like disorganized information. I don't read Marvel Comics, but it's okay if you do. My first time was with "DKR," and I've been a Batman man through and through ever since. I enjoy hot sauce and long walks on the beach, among other things.

Major Contributions

My major creds include plenty of work on the Batman and Batman villains pages, and the Rogues Gallery Template (see also: Batman Villains article in progress). I've also done a lot of work in the Storylines section, particularly the Batman Storylines. I make a lot of Infoboxes, and I'm responsible for most appearances of the Title Infobox around the site. Inspired by some others around the site, I've made most of the Character Stubs, which I would appreciate your help in spreading around. Check them out. I've made most of the pages for other comics companies, although those are mostly stubs. I'm currently pioneering "Concepts." Also, I'm working on pages covering various comics Award Ceremonies. As this site is collaborative, it's difficult to really claim anything as your own contribution. However, I am particularly proud of these two articles in progress, by me:

What I Know

I spend a lot of time in Barnes & Nobles, and I consider myself an equal opportunity DC reader. I know enough about most factions of the DC Universe to hold an intelligent conversation about them. Wildstorm mostly loses me. I like the Authority, and Midnighter is truly a baller, but I haven't had enough opportunity to read either to be anywhere near versed. I've read the most popular Vertigo titles, but I haven't had the chance to read any John Constantine either. Other than that, of the mainstream DCU, I'll probably have at least a basic grip on anything you talk to me about.
My area of expertise is Batman. If you have any questions about Batman Family/Villain history; be it publication history, creator history, or continuity history. If you have questions about why something happened or is happening, what purpose the individual villains have, origins, character dynamics. Why do they continue to use people like the Riddler or the Mad Hatter? Does Robin have any pedophilic undertones? What makes the Joker such a great villain? Where can I go to find good reading on Batman's training? The basic problems of the Batman world; how long can Bruce Wayne continue to exist? He started out as about 29 when Dick Grayson was around 11, but now Dick is in his late 20's; what happens when Dick has kids, and when his kids have kids? How many continuity reboots can we have? Talk to me if you have any non-data related questions. That's what I'm best at. I know Batman, and the surrounding significance.
That covers content. I've never had formal code training, but I do have some field experience, and I've flipped through at least one HTML book. Most of my code experience is common-sense based, i.e. revolving around observation and reverse-engineering. I'm a blue collar coder.

Past Mistakes

I am not above error. If I have corrected something incorrectly, I apologize to you and assure you it wasn't personal. Just put it back with a short little explanation, or tell me to put it back; I'll do it. Also, there was a time awhile ago when I too was new to this site, and didn't really understand everything. I'm certain there are plenty of old mistakes of mine out there, many on pages I'm not watching. If you see any, my apologies in advance that I've generated work for you if you choose to correct them; or again, feel free to alert me. Thank you for bearing with my past self.
